About Us

Our services

Introduction

AHSW is an organisation which responds to the needs of its members and the Sector as a whole.

Based on information which came out of the research of the Sector in 2005 and research carried out since launch, the following services are provided.

Website

This website has been developed to enable members and others to access and share information, as well as to promote the organisation and Arts and Health work across the region.

The site has a range of features including a comprehensive list of links to a wide range of organisations relevant to Arts and Health work, and a directory of AHSW members.

If you have any comments on the website or any news items e-mail us and let us know.

Working in Partnership with others

One of the key issues that came out of the research of the Sector in 2005 was the lack of advocacy for, and knowledge of the sector.

AHSW is in a prime position to represent the needs and aspirations of people working in Arts and Health within the South West and beyond.

Meetings and sub-regional networks

The research undertaken in 2005 showed that:

  • Many people working in the Arts and Health Sector feel isolated
  • People want to share their practice with others
  • There is a desire to learn from others’ experience

AHSW provides support and networking opportunities through regular regional meetings, and encourages the development of sub-regional networks.
